Summit DD Receives Three-Year CARF Accreditation

CARF International announced that Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, or Summit DD, has been accredited for a period of three years for its Child and Youth Services, Employment Supports, and Job Development programs with Governance Standards applied.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the Agency’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during on-site visits, its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

“Out of more than 400 standards applied for we received only six recommendations,” remarked Summit DD Superintendent, John Trunk. “This speaks to the hard work and dedication to quality from our staff.”

The reviewers noted several key strengths of the Agency’s Information Technology department, clubs and classes offered through its day programs, and the Community Partnership for Inclusion model, used for young children and their families.
