Dissecting the Savings

Summit DD’s operating levy makes up more than 80% of the Agency’s revenue.  That levy is set to expire on December 31, 2018.  To ensure that more than 4,700 adults and kids with developmental disabilities don’t lose funding for essential services, Summit DD will be putting forth a ballot issue to renew the levy on November 7, 2017.  This is not a new tax and will fund services and supports from 2019 – 2024.

Program gives summer work to kids with disabilities; City of Stow among the employers

Summit DD has partnered with Summit County Job & Family Services, private disability service providers, and employers to provide summer work to 40 teens.  Read more in an article that appeared in the Akron Beacon Journal.

County Council Passes Resolution Placing Summit DD on Ballot in November

This week the members of Summit County Council passed a resolution to proceed with submitting a six-year, 4.50 mills renewal of a tax for the benefit of Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, or Summit DD, for the purpose of providing community programs and services to adults and children with developmental disabilities.  The renewal of Summit DD’s operating levy will be on the ballot on November 7.
