At METRO’s March board meeting, four individuals supported by Summit DD’s Community Employment department received recognition for their hard work and dedication. Justin, Tyrell, Jeremy and Mike have over 17 years of combined service as METRO employees. Known as the Sign and Shelter Crew, “…they have fully embraced the company’s culture regarding quality service by ensuring the METRO RTA customers have access to clean and safe shelters. This partnership affords the crew opportunities to learn essential skills that are highly valued in the workplace,” shared Staci Nevels, Summit DD’s Employment and Training Manager.
“It’s very nice to be recognized. It makes you feel appreciated,” commented crew member Mike with a proud smile. The team’s Summit DD Workstation Specialist, Tessa Krismer, is very proud of the group. She shared, “I can honestly say that I have never worked with a crew that loves their job more than these four young men do. It’s an honor to not only supervise them but also get to work side by side with them and for that, I appreciate it so very much that they are being recognized for all their hard work and dedication. I cannot say enough good things about METRO RTA…and I just want to thank them for all the supports and encouragements they’ve given to us over the years.”
METRO RTA has been a valued community partner with Summit DD since 2008. Together, we are able to provide public transportation options for individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Summit County. These essential services empower individuals to fully explore their community and live their vision of a good life.
