Inclusion Day: A Home Run for Everyone

On August 30th, more than 600 people came together to celebrate one common ideal…inclusion! Summit DD teamed up with the Akron RubberDucks to host the fun-filled, first annual Inclusion Day. Over the past several months a team of Summit DD staff members worked hard to organize this memorable day. Thanks to donated funds, the event gave our community the opportunity to celebrate the abilities of all citizens.

“We are overwhelmed by the show of support,” said Summit DD Superintendent John Trunk. “Our goal is to help create communities that are welcoming to individuals of all abilities. And to see this many people coming together to celebrate inclusion, this tells us that the community is behind us.”
