Calico Center
Calico is an inclusive, developmental child care center that provides care and support to toddlers and preschoolers with and without special needs. Our child care center is unique because nurses are always on staff to provide support to those children who may be medically fragile and whose technological and/or medical care might exclude them from other child care centers and opportunities.
Calico Child Care Center is staffed by Child Care Specialists and Program Assistants who are professionals that meet or exceed state credential and training requirements. In addition, staff-to-child ratios at Calico are kept lower than state and national recommendations to allow for more quality time and attention to the children attending.
Why Should My Child Come to CALICO?
Calico offers spacious classrooms, a large gym for active play, a beautiful, accessible playground and a therapeutic indoor pool. Classrooms are stocked with age and developmentally appropriate toys, materials and equipment that the staff utilizes through the Creative Curriculum approach to early learning.
Well balanced, hot lunches, and morning and afternoon snacks are included as well as, considerations for any special dietary needs a child may have. Children who have special needs may receive support at the center, as well as at home from an Early Intervention Specialist and other support specialists such as Speech/Language Pathologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Vision Specialist, as needed.
