Individual Option Medicaid Waiver Services

Individual Options Medicaid Waiver Services: Commonly know as the I/O waiver, the Individual Options Waiver provides funding to individual waiver recipients that allows them to pay for services and supports without which the person would have to move into a long-term care facility or nursing home. The I/O waiver is one of two Home and Community Based waivers administered through the Ohio Department of MRDD. The I/O waiver funds a variety of services. The most commonly used service is Homemaker Personal Care. Recipients of I/O waiver funding choose from a list of certified I/O waiver providers for the services and supports they need. Although, one-on-one services are provided under the I/O waiver, these services are most commonly provided in traditional congregate or group settings.
