Service & Support Administration (SSA)

Service and Support Administration (SSA) is a set of Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) mandated functions to be provided by the Summit DD. Persons eligible for SSA include individuals three years of age or older who request SSA services and persons served receiving home and community-based services. Summit DD Board may provide SSA services to other individuals upon special request. All SSA services are provided to persons served at no cost.  All persons served may request their records to review at no cost.

 Service and Support Administration functions include:

• Establishing the eligibility for Summit DD services;
• Assessing individual needs for services;
• Developing and monitoring individual service plans with the active
   participation of the person served;
• Establishing budgets based upon assessed needs;
• Assisting in the selection of providers to deliver services & supports;
• Ensuring that services are effectively delivered and coordinated;
• Providing for quality assurance monitoring for services and supports;
• Ensuring each person served has a designated advocate for daily
   representation

 Other SSA duties and functions include:

• Supporting individuals in determining and pursuing goals;
• Maintaining the individual as the focus while coordinating services  
   across multiple systems
• Assisting with service linkage and coordination;
• Single Point of Accountability;

Service and Support Administration shall be provided in accordance with rules adopted under section 5126.08 of the Revised Code.
