Green and Clean Day 2015!

Every year on the first Friday in May the Downtown Akron Partnership hosts Green and Clean Day. It’s an opportunity for members of our community to beautify Akron while enjoying a beautiful summer day with friends. “It’s just nice being out in this weather, having a good time but also doing something great for the community. We love it,” said staff member Susan Pifer. This year, the Summit DD team was in charge of cleaning up Lock 3. The team cleaned benches and polished up different spots in Lock 3, then took some time to eat a great lunch and chat.

“It’s a way to make cleaning fun,” added staff member Lisa Graham. So many volunteers came out to support the DAP’s goal of keeping Akron clean and vibrant. “I just love being out in the sun. On a day like this, I just absolutely love it,” said a volunteer from Summit DD’s team.  It’s great to see Summit DD staff and individuals served using one of the first hot days of the year to work together and better the community! Great job everyone!
