Summit DD Staff Compete in 2019 Akron Corporate Challenge

The Akron Corporate Challenge is an athletic competition promoting employee wellness, company camaraderie, and business networking while helping local charities. The Summit DD Team participated for a fourth consecutive year and placed 5th out of 16 teams. Other competitors included large organizations like Gojo, InfoCision, Signet Jewelers, and more. Overall, nearly 80 Summit DD staff and family members participated in the tournament which consisted of 13 different events throughout June and July.

“It’s fun to get to know people outside of work, especially in a competitive situation.  I’ll go to battle with our folks all day, every day.  We compete, and I’m proud to be part of the team.”

“As a new employee with Summit DD, when I found out about the Akron Corporate Challenge and saw all the different events that were offered, I jumped at the chance to participate in Cornhole and Bowling as I love both of those games. It’s really nice to be part of an organization that cares about its employees and gives them the opportunity to have fun. These challenges also promote collaboration and by all of us working together, we can make really make a difference for everyone in our community.”

“Events like the Akron Corporate Challenge help unite the large group of individuals here at Summit DD. It allows us to get to know each other on a personal level. Together, the Summit DD Akron Corporate Challenge team brought home the following accolades:

  • Basketball – 3rd place
  • Footgolf – 3rd place
  • 10K Relay – 3rd place
  • Also making it into the finals of Softball, Kickball, Tug of War and the Obstacle Course

The team hopes to snag gold in the near future, so be on the lookout in 2020! Thank you to our staff who were committed to competing and practicing for almost two months. Your dedication speaks volumes!
