The Summit County Training Collaborative (SCTC) was established because people receiving services are entitled to services by staff and volunteers who demonstrate basic competencies and who periodically update these skills. Additionally, collaborative members believe that the progress of persons with disabilities and staff satisfaction are directly related to the quality of training staff receive and the services rendered to persons with disabilities.
SCTC is a training program established to provide a solid base of knowledge for individuals working or considering working in the developmental disabilities field in Summit County. The curriculum has been approved to meet new staff training requirements for all developmental disabilities staff. This program can be beneficial to other individuals or groups including students working toward special education degrees, social workers and other human service fields, group home staff, Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board employees looking for a job upgrade, businesses wanting to expand their knowledge of individuals with disabilities as well as many others.
Classes are available to the public and are offered individually or on a collective monthly basis.
