Summit County People First Self-Advocacy Group: May 2026

Want to be part of a group that focuses on self-advocacy, learns about community resources, and finds ways to give back to the community? If so, then come join other self-advocates at Summit County’s People First Self-Advocacy Group!

The next People First Self-Advocacy meeting will be held on Thursday May 14th at 4:30pm at Summit DD’s Cuyahoga Falls Administration building (2355 2nd Street Cuyahoga Falls, OH).

This month, the group will be recapping last month’s self-advocacy presentation and discussing the formation of a local People First Chapter. In addition, we will be joined by Joe DiFranco and Pam Hunt, from Summit DD, who will be discussing best practices when it comes to choosing a provider. This conversation will include seeking feedback on a tool being developed where you can search for information on providers.

Cannot make the meeting in person? No worries. You can join the People First Self Advocacy group virtually with this link.

For any questions, please reach out to Jessica Noorwood (Jnoorwood@summitdd.org) or Drew Williams (drewwilliams@summitdd.org). Hopefully you can join us!

People First is a statewide self-advocacy organization, connected to The Arc of Ohio that supports individuals to gain advocacy skills and make positive changes in their community.
