Summit DD Receives Community Impact Award

Summit DD is honored to receive the 2024 Community Impact Award from United Way of Summit & Medina. This recognition celebrates organizations that lead by example—driving positive change through volunteerism, philanthropy, and community engagement.

In 2024, Summit DD proudly supported United Way’s Bold Goals by raising more than $5,000 through employee giving, taking part in key events like the Annual Report to the Community, and rallying over 30 staff members to volunteer at Stuff the Bus—an initiative that provides essential school supplies to Akron Public School students. Our longstanding partnership with United Way reflects our shared commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive community.

“Our partnership with United Way is rooted in a shared mission—to lift up individuals of all abilities in every corner of our community through collaboration, compassion, and action,” shares Summit DD Assistant Superintendent Holly Brugh. “We’re proud to be recognized for putting our mission into action—working hand in hand with United Way to drive meaningful change where it matters most.”

Summit DD is grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing our shared impact in the years ahead. Together, we’re creating a brighter future for people of all abilities in our community.
