(Tallmadge, Ohio) – The Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, or Summit DD, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Dodson as Board President, Allyson V. James as Vice President and Gregg Cramer as Secretary. Dodson replaces Dave Dohnal as President, having served the maximum of three terms at the end of 2023.
Jason Dodson was appointed as a volunteer Board Member for the County of Summit Developmental Disabilities Board in January 2021. He brings a wealth of knowledge as a private practice attorney for Roetzel and Andress. Prior to joining Roetzel and Andress, Mr. Dodson served as Chief of Staff to two County Executives in Summit County, Ohio and as Assistant Director of Law for Summit County. He also represented public, for-profit and non-profit clients before joining the Summit County Executive’s Office.
Randy Briggs, former Deputy Mayor for Labor Relations for the City of Akron, was appointed to fulfill an unexpired term on the Board by County Executive Ilene Shapiro. Briggs has served in numerous roles for the City of Akron including Assistant to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, Labor Relations, as well as General Counsel for the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and is a graduate of the University of Akron School of Law. Briggs previously served on Summit DD’s Board from 2009 – 2020, and as Board President from 2012 – 2015 and from 2017-2018.
Probate Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer appointed Stacy Youssef to her first three-year term, expiring in 2027. In July 2008, Youssef started Zane’s, Inc. This non-profit organization helps families who have children and adults with special needs who live in Northeast Ohio. They provide educational opportunities for parents to become better advocates for their children and provide quarterly funding resources for various therapies, camps, assistive technology, adaptive equipment, respite care, some medical expenses, etc. Youssef currently serves on this Board of Directors as a volunteer CFO. By day, Youssef is the Business Manager for American Testing Technologies and she is a retired teacher.
In addition to Dodson, James, Cramer, Briggs and Youssef, Summit DD’s seven-member Board includes Tami Gaugler and Densie Ricks.
