Welcoming New Team Members: January 2024

Join us in welcoming the newest members of the Summit DD team! Be on the lookout for future job openings on our Careers page.

Karen Armour, Quality Assurance Nurse

“I previously worked at an ICF facility for many years as an LPN and RN in Valley City. Most recently I worked at Medina Creative Accessibility as an RN. MCA provides housing and services for individuals with disabilities throughout Medina, Cuyahoga, Lorain and Summit counties. I am most looking forward to being able to help facilities improve and keep their med pass procedures in compliance. In my personal time I am usually spending time with my 3 children. I have two girls, ages 9 and 3, and one boy who is 7. My oldest daughter is on a dance team and cheers in the fall for her brothers football team. So between dance, football and cheer you can usually find me at a game or competition.” – Karen Armour, Quality Assurance Nurse

Cheryl Dorner-Harmon, Service & Support Administrator

“I have been employed by county boards for fourteen years. I come to Summit from Cuyahoga DD, where I was an SSA. I have also worked at Medina DD as a supervisor, job coach and developer. I’ve also worked for several private providers, prior to county board employment. In my previous life I have been a business owner/manager, professional photographer, horse trainer and riding instructor for over 20 years. I look forward to participating in and perpetuating a positive work culture and offering the best service I can to the people I interact and work with. I have 3 wonderful adult children; we all love to travel and have all been exchange students during our lives. I have 3 old dogs, one is an American Bulldog/something, one is an ancient Dachshund, and the newest canine addition to my home is a 10+ year old rescue Maltipoo.  I also have a 22-year-old rescue Cockatoo that was adopted at age 20.” – Cheryl Dorner-Harmon, SSA

Robyn Robertson, Service & Support Administrator

“Most of my career has been spent in the criminal justice system, working at Oriana House and Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court where I spent time in several different departments. I left the court system in 2021 to figure out “what else is out there”. I initially thought I would like to get my teaching license and tried substitute teaching as well as joining the new OhioRISE program as a Care Coordinator. During that time, I found a role as a DSP provider for a mobile day program called Out N About. I loved the culture of the environment and the amazing ways that folks with disabilities impacted my life with their joy and willingness. I knew I had landed in the right place and that I had found my passion! I am looking forward to more opportunities to impact the community around me, helping to create more autonomy, connection and independence and finding fulfillment in my work every day. In my free time, I enjoy staying active! I love hiking with my dog, rock climbing at the local bouldering gym, strength training at the gym and most importantly, finding a new coffee or ice cream shop to try.” – Robyn Robertson, SSA
