Collaboration at the Heart of Supporting Summit County Youth

Collaboration was at the heart of a recent interagency cross-training organized by Summit DD’s SSA team. Held October 30, the training brought together over 100 youth-focused professionals from across Summit County for a morning of learning and meaningful conversation.

Representatives from Summit DD, Summit County Juvenile Court, Family and Children First Council (FCFC), OhioRISE, and Summit County Children Services shared insights into the role of their agency and, most importantly, how they work together to support youth with complex needs. Conversations highlighted the importance of communication, coordination, and understanding each agency’s strengths to create more effective support systems for local youth and families.

The training reinforced a shared goal: ensuring youth receive the resources and services they need to thrive. By strengthening relationships, sharing resources, and bridging gaps in services, agencies can build a stronger network of support and develop solutions that make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth with complex needs.

Summit DD knows that supporting youth is a shared responsibility. Through strong community partnerships, together we can create brighter outcomes for youth and families in Summit County.
