It’s important to have people to turn to when you need support. Many parents who have children with disabilities find comfort in parent support groups. These social communities provide a safe place to share, learn and support one another. Now there is a new support group specifically for dads! Pathways for Pop aims to make sure fathers feel included and provide a safe space to share, learn and grow!
Supporting Dads
Thanks to a grant from DODD and facilitated through Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio (DSANEO), Pathways for Pops provides support for fathers of individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages. This statewide support group offers a series of programs and social activities that are meant to:
- Empower Your Parenting: Learn from experts about child development, communication skills, effective parenting techniques and more.
- Build Stronger Bonds: Connect with other fathers, share experiences and foster relationships that last a lifetime.
- Be Informed: Stay up to date on the latest trends in education, advocacy and medical needs to better support your child’s growth.
- Shape Their Future: Understand how your involvement today can lead to a brighter tomorrow for your child.
The Pathway for Pops Dads group meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month, 6 pm – 9 pm. Locations change each month.
