There is no doubt that John Trunk, Summit DD’s new Superintendent, brings the professional expertise to fill the role as the head of one of Ohio’s largest counties. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field. “I started in this field as a direct care worker and loved what I did,” described Trunk. Most recently, he served the Toledo area as Lucas County’s Superintendent for 12 years, as well as top positions in Williams and Richland counties. Beyond professional experience, Trunk brings a very important leadership quality with him…a sense of community.
More likely than not, you’ve heard the buzz about Chief David Oliver from the Brimfield Police Department. With more than 90 thousand followers on Facebook and the exciting release of his book, No Mopes Allowed, the Chief has certainly become a local celebrity. However, it’s not just his many fans or witty social network posts that make him so popular—it’s his heart for the community, serving others, and supporting Summit DD’s mission for inclusion. The County of Summit Developmental Disabilities Board, or Summit DD, invites the community to attend a public hearing on December 11th at 12:00 p.m. regarding the draft of the 2014 Operating Plan. Summit DD creates an Operating plan annually detailing the measures and initiatives to achieve goals outlined in the 2013-2015 Long Range Plan. Input from residents is important as the Agency plans to implement new initiatives for the coming year. Read More ›
