According to Community Legal Aid, Akron is the “eviction capital of Ohio.” Roughly one third of Summit County residents rent their homes. We have the highest eviction rate in the state and rank 27th in the nation. There are many factors that contribute to this alarming statistic, but there is help.
Thursday, April 28, community partners like Community Legal Aid, Akron City Council, City of Akron Mayor’s Office and a number of others will host the Eviction Prevention Summit to help people understand their rights, risks and resources to help avoid eviction.
Tickets to the full day conference are available at Community Legal Aid’s website. No-cost tickets are available to those who qualify for financial need. To request a no-cost ticket, email email@example.com or call (330) 983-2575. Free transportation for registrants is available through Akron METRO. Attendees will receive vouchers for free parking provided by ABM at the Broadway, High & Market, and CitiCenter parking decks.
