Join Summit DD, Akron Children’s Hospital, career centers, transition services and other community partners at the Northern Summit County Youth Transition Fair.
The Transition Fair provides vital resources to families of middle and high school students with developmental disabilities. Information focuses on helping teens and families make a successful transition from school to adult life. Perfect for student on IEPs and 504s – ages 14-22.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
The Transition Fair will have informational sessions for families on a variety of topics. Some topics include:
- What is Transition? A Transition Primer
- Role of the Parent Mentor
- The difference between OOD and DD services
- Medicaid (SSI) and Guardianship
Families will also have the opportunity to visit with local agencies and vendors throughout the fair.
