Community Resources for Communication Building

Looking for additional ways to help build your child’s communication development through play? Check our these great resources. Sure to inspire fun, imagination and memories together.

Imagination Library. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners. Once registered your child will receive one book a month through the mail. Reading is an important way to model language for children and encourage imitation.

UDS Toy & Resource Lending Library. Play is the best time for your child to work on building their language skills. If you are looking for new toy ideas to encourage imitation or maybe some animal toys check out UDS Toy Lending Library. The Toy Lending Library loans developmental toys and resource materials to preschools, therapists, parents, grandparents, and anyone working with a child from 0-6 years old. Families working with Early Intervention can rent these items free of charge. Check out their website for hours and more information.
