Employ-Ability Summit Aims to Connect Employers to Untapped Workforce

Summit DD Celebrates First Annual Inclusion Day with the Akron RubberDucks

More than 900 staff, individuals, families and community members expected

(Tallmadge, Ohio) – On Sunday, August 30, approximately 900 people will celebrate Inclusion Day with the Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, or Summit DD, as the Akron RubberDucks play the Richmond Flying Squirrels at Canal Park, 300 South Main Street, Akron.  The festivities begin at 1:05 with a ballpark lunch and then a chance to run the bases after the game. Summit DD Hosts Community Meetings to Discuss Changes

(Tallmadge, Ohio) – Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, or Summit DD, is hosting a series of community meetings to discuss a new Center for Medicaid Services (CMS) rule that went into effect in March 2014. The rule states that federal Medicaid funds can no longer be used to pay for Waiver services that have the effect of isolating people.  Further, CMS says an organization cannot provide both case management and services to individuals with disabilities because there is a conflict of interest.
