Inclusion is for everyone. Each March we focus on the importance of inclusion in honor of DD Awareness Month, but true inclusion comes from community. As we celebrate people of all abilities this March, here are some additional Community Inclusion Celebrations you can be a part of:
2026 Activities
- Inclusion Day. Help us paint Summit County ORANGE for Inclusion on Monday, March 2 for Inclusion Day. Get tips to help make this celebration your own.
- City of Cuyahoga Falls City Hall Lighting on Inclusion Day. March 2. See City Hall decked out in its orange in honor of Inclusion Day!
- Libraries Displays. Visit local libraries all month long for special curated inclusion displays. You’re sure to find something for all ages! Check out our partner libraries: Akron Summit County Public Libraries, Barberton, Cuyahoga Falls, and Stow-Munroe Falls.
2026 Events
- Inclusion Day(s) at the Zoo. [2/28 – 3/2] Join Summit DD and the Akron Zoo for Inclusion Days at the Zoo. Get FREE admission and parking on Feb 28, March 1, and March 2, 2026 just by wearing something ORANGE.
- Jewish Association of Cleveland. YouthAbility Kindness Grows. [3/7] Join the Jewish Association of Cleveland’s YouthAbility for a free inclusive performance. Get details and RSVP information as seating is limited.
- We Rock the Spectrum. [date TBD] Help your little ones get their wiggles out with inclusive programming through We Rock the Spectrum and Summit DD’s Early Intervention team. Details coming soon.
- Summit Artspace ArtWalk. [date TBD] Join Summit DD and Summit Artspace for an inclusive art walk. Peruse beautiful art and talk to the artists themselves! Details coming soon.
- Summit DD 2026 Appreciation Breakfast and Awards Celebration. [3/31] Wrap up DD Awareness Month by honoring this year’s award winners. Get details and reservation information on Summit DD’s event calendar.
