Message from the Superintendent

Dear Summit DD Partners & Supporters,

Another year has come and gone. As I reflect on my first year serving as Superintendent of Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, I can’t help but think of the many people and partners whose contributions assisted us in achieving our Mission. While this year has not been without its challenges, we have had many successes as well. I believe that 2023 will present more opportunities for innovation and successful outcomes for people with developmental disabilities living in Summit County.

Whether you are new to Summit DD or have been involved with our Agency for years, I’d like to thank you for your support and commitment to helping people of all abilities reach their full potential, one person at a time.  Our work is inspired by you and the individual goals you achieve, whether that goal is a baby taking their first steps, or a teenager finding their first job, we are proud to support you.

I would also like to thank our dedicated employees for the work they do each day and for their creativity in finding supports to best meet the needs of each person we serve. The individual contributions of each employee allow us to be responsive and innovative, from ensuring health and safety, to creating meaningful connections, to ensuring our buildings are ready for our guests each day, thank you.

Our provider community has faced tremendous challenges and direct support professionals are on the front lines each day. They will continue to be there to support individuals we serve with care and compassion throughout this holiday season, and words can’t express how much you mean to us.

Summit DD is here to support children and adults, and their families, throughout their lifetime. When you have close relationships that last decades you become family to us. From our Summit DD family to yours, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season and a very happy new year. We look forward to coming together in 2023 and continuing to accomplish great things!

Sincerely,

Lisa Kamlowsky, Summit DD Superintendent
