Community Food Resources

Summit DD is aware of the anticipated disruption to SNAP benefits beginning November 1. Like you, we are concerned about the potential effects this will have on the individuals and families we serve. As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, Summit DD is rallying around efforts to address food insecurity resulting from the SNAP disruption.

Where can I get help with food assistance?

Summit DD is sharing resources available to Summit County residents experiencing food insecurity due to the disruption of SNAP Benefits. Please note that each program may have specific eligibility requirements, including residency or income guidelines.

Summit DD Pop-Up Food Pantries

Cuyahoga Falls Administrative Building will host the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank Pop-Up Pantry, open to community members and those we serve. Two upcoming dates are available:

Both dates will be drive-through style, where individuals will remain in their vehicle and pull through the parking lot to receive their food assistance.

Pre-registration is not required. Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Please bring your photo ID, if available. You will not need to show proof of income.

Have more questions about utilizing the Pop Up Pantry? Please contact the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank at 330-535-6900 or check out the Food Distribution FAQ’s.

How can I help others who may need food assistance?

Our partners at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank are currently seeking volunteers to assist with on-site pantry operations, donations of shelf-stable food items, and monetary support to help those in need. For up-to-date information on Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank’s current needs and ways to lend a helping hand, please visit their website here.

Your efforts – whether through sharing resources or getting involved with the foodbank – make a tangible difference in ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry!
